Q. When you're not working, what do you love to do in your free time?
A. During my free time I love to wind down and take care of myself in the form of hiking, yoga, or just being home with my cats haha!

Q. Tell us more about your story and your career.
A. I've been in the music world until my mid 20s, I played piano and went to Berklee College of Music focusing on the business side of the industry and then decided to shift my career 2 years into moving to LA. I decided to attended Make Up Designory in Burbank, specializing in fashion and beauty. Seven years later, I've worked in so many different setting including photo shoots, fashion runways, weddings, working with individual clients, film sets and more. I love working in the beauty industry and so happy I get to make people feel their best for a living!

Q. Where are your favorite locations or venues to work?
A. I love working near the ocean, the venues there are so gorgeous! Working in the mountains is so nice too. Thats one of the many things I love about California - there are so many beautiful venues and I enjoy getting to explore all of them!

Q. What is a current beauty trend you fully stand behind?
A. Glowy skin with beautiful blush!

Q. Please tell us more about your art.
A. I focus on enhancing clients features rather than changing anything with too much makeup. Everyone has their own unique features and sometimes they like certain things about their eyes or cheekbones that they'd love to enhance so my goal is always to listen and help certain features pop!

Q. What fuels you in your career?
A. I've had the opportunity being in rooms with talented people who work in Hollywood and being able to work beside them and see the possibilities in the beauty industry gave me confidence to pave my own path!

Q. What you enjoy most about working with brides and bridal parties?
A. The energy in the room!

Q. What is your favorite part of a wedding day?
A. My favorite part is at the end of each look when I give the clients a mirror to see the final picture and seeing how happy/confident they feel!

I cannot recommend Emily Lynn & Co highly enough! I had the pleasure of working with Sooyon (makeup) and Andy (hair) for my wedding, and they were nothing short of phenomenal. Their talent, professionalism, and warmth made the entire experience seamless for myself and my bridal party. Sooyon is incredibly skilled. She listened to what I wanted, offered thoughtful suggestions, and executed everything flawlessly. The most important thing to me was for my natural skin and features to shine, and she truly made me feel like the most beautiful version of myself. I wish I could’ve kept my makeup on forever! Andy did an incredible job with my bridal hair, helping me nail down my vision and executing perfectly. He also did a fantastic job on the updo and half updo for my bridal party. Everyone was raving about Sooyon and Andy’s work!

Emily Lynn did the hair and makeup for my wedding and couldn’t have been more amazing! Joey, Sooyon and Josie were our artists and they were consumate professionals: they arrived on time, and we even ran early so there was no rushing at the end... Everyone was fabulous and they totally achieved my vision for the day: natural, dewy glam that felt totally ME. 10/10 would recommend Emily Lynn and all her artists; they were so great to work with, and I wish they could do my glam everyday!

...Sooyon did a fantastic job on my makeup and was lovely to talk to. She was able to address my concerns (aging, droopy eyelids) and do a natural look that was me, just better, and did not make me look older like makeup usually does. I do not wear much makeup and it was totally comfortable to wear all night. My makeup lasted through a lot of sweating and running around and looked great in photos. I’ll update with photos when I get some from my photographer. Thank you Emily & Sooyon!!

I am so happy with my hair and makeup for my wedding in August 2025 at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu. Emily Lynn and Company were so amazing, very attentive, and helped my dreams come true. I had my hair and makeup done in addition to my mother, my mother-in-law, and two of my bridesmaids. I have very curly hair, and they assured me that they could style all sorts of hair, and I am so happy with how it turned out. I did a beautiful half up half down while still incorporating my curls.

For my makeup, we all wanted to be enhanced in a subtle manner. My makeup looked so natural, so glowy, it was exactly what I wanted. My husband thought I looked beautiful, and I truly felt very beautiful. Sooyon did all of our makeup, and we all were shining. She is incredibly talented and she color matched us like I have never seen before. She is truly talented. She was also so fun to work with and has a lovely personality. She was efficient, attentive, and executed our looks perfectly.
