Q. When you're not working, what do you love to do in your free time?
A. Play with my dog, eat, travel, spend time with my family.
Q. Tell us more about your story and your career.
A. I've been doing hair and makeup for over 10 yrs now. It has always been a passion of mine, but it took me a while to get where I am today. I graduated with a degree in Business, and after working in Corporate America for a decade, I realized an office job just wasn't for me. I went back to school to for my cosmetology license, and the rest is history!
Q. What brought you to Southern California?
A. I was born & raised in sunny Santa Monica, so I've been a SoCal girl all my life!
Q. Where are your favorite locations or venues to work?
A. Hummingbird Nest is one of my favorite wedding venues. It has a beautiful backdrop of the mountains, and has such breathtaking views.
Q. What is a current beauty trend you fully stand behind?
A. Moisturizer is a necessity. Even if you have oily skin, it still needs moisture. Your skin will thank you for it as you age.
Q. Please tell us more about your art.
A. I like to enhance each person's natural and individual beauty, not cover it up with caked on makeup. Embrace your uniqueness. My approach is: less is always more than you think.
Q. What fuels you in your career?
A. Learning new techniques, and knowing there's always room for improvement. I love watching other artists at work because there will always be a learning curve.
Q. What is your favorite part of a wedding day?
A. Seeing everyone dressed with their hair and makeup done.

“Worked with Josie and Celina - they did the makeup and hair for me, my bridal party, mom, SIL and DIL. They did an incredible job with a group of women with very different complexions, skin types and hair types, and they made getting ready so much fun. They created a relaxing atmosphere while keeping things on schedule. Celina did a really wonderful job with a bunch of different hairstyles since everyone had different requests.
Josie did my bridal makeup and hair. When we did the trial, I wasn’t sure what I wanted to do with my hair. She made me feel instantly at ease and she was able to offer suggestions even though I didn’t know the right terms for the hair vibe I was going for. Readjusted my chignon to give me two different options. Then I pivoted to a Gibson tuck a couple weeks before the date without a re-trial and she absolutely nailed it! With my makeup, I knew I wanted a really natural look since I don’t wear makeup that often. She made me look glowy and gorgeous while still looking like myself. I can’t thank her enough!!”
